Hearty Iron, run by Peter Massey, is a company based in Hertfordshire. He makes beautiful decorative iron pieces for the home and his unique designs add an extra element of class to any home.

Peter uses Libéron Iron Paste in his iron paste metal treatment work, and says of the product: “Almost all Hearty Iron interior pieces are finished with Libéron Iron Paste. This is the best replacement for the Lead paste traditionally used for fireplace inserts, ranges, and so on. Graphite based, the paste has the attractive variable qualities of a natural finish appearing black and flat most of the time, but also silver and black or pewter-charcoal and shiny according to the type of light.

The blackness or silveryness is similar to a pencil lead used for heavy shading but is further enhanced by some of the brighter metal components used, which reflect light back through the finish.”
